ladies ebel classic changing battery

Hi.
After searching for a guide to changing the battery & finding this forum i decided to post how i actually did this.
Previous posters have been correct in knowing that you have to open the front. That you will lose the warranty (mine is 10 yrs old) & that it will not be guaranteed water resistant.
I started by taking out the four screws on the rear to release the bracelet & make the job easier.
Then unscrew the 6 on the front tbat hold the bezel in. This will just carefully prise off.
Then pull out the crown to the setting position.
The stem is designed to bend a little & this means that the movement can be carefully lifted from the 9 O'clock position taking care not to damage the face.
The battery is positioned under the 7 O'clock position & with one fine
screwdriver keeping the movement raised another can be positioned between the movement & the battery to release it.
The battery number is SR616SW.
reverse process to fit new.
It is fair to say extreme care is needed mainly due to the small size & i tend to work in a large tupperware container so as not to lose anything. The right size screwdriver is vital to avoid damaging the screws.
This is how i did it & it worked. No need to reverse the movement - I take no responsibility for anyone trying this.
I just wanted to post this as there did not seem a definitive answer elswhere.
Regards
Mark
