Should the price for a new GMT II (classic) have risen?

Hi, I am in the middle of trying to locate a new GMT II classic model in the UK. There are not many examples left.
I have been into my local Ernest Jones and they said as it was discontinued there should be no price increase if I could find one.
I located one in another EJ store who have just one left. At the moment it has gone back to Rolex to have the new credit card warrranty issued. It is a Z serial apparently in pristine condition.
It probably will not be back from Rolex for weeks which is not a problem.

I asked the sales girl to confirm the price and she said that they could not due to the price increase and they would not know the price until it had returned from Rolex. This is different info to that given by my local store.

So what is going on and what is the true situation here in the UK. Surely the watch will be part of Ernest Jones's stock from last year, long before the price increase was announced!!!????

Cheers, PeterT
