The Colors of the North

Hello guys.

It's no doubt that Autumn is upon us and comes with it the beautiful, eye catching and majestic colors of Autumn. I have lived in Michigan my whole life and am now spending the first year of it grown up and away from the Autumn, the drab of Autumn. I, unlike so many people who move to the southern states, do love the cold, rain and dark of the Autumn and Winter months. A very beautiful season, Winter. It is difficult, yes and is it cold? Yes, but with the right attire, a cashmere sweater and a lambswool cardigan, a wax jacket and wool slacks, with a glass of fine single malt Scotch Whiskey is very comfortable.

No, the colors are admired from all those in the southern sates, methinks. Please correct me if i am wrong. However there really is nothing like the Midwest or anywhere north of the Mason Dixon in the world. It is incredibly beautiful. Having moved to Texas, there is no such thing as autumn and color change down here. If anything they turn brown before they shrivel up and break, the leaves.

Texas has it's own beauty, for sure. Today is a lovely day. Mid 70's and windy. I talked to my brother, who says in Michigan, it is cloudy, rainy and in the low 60's. Beautiful weather. I love that type of weather and as of late, my heart has been homesick for it, missing dearly the smell of wet leaves on the ground in a light shower in the early morning. Perfect weather to sleep in on, and to sit back and relax. I do miss it, a lot. Hence this thread.

Now, normally, if i was to be up north, back home this time of year i would take and post pictures of my watch in the brightly colored foliage of the trees and such. I would, honestly, make it a day trip to go to my local nature sport and take pictures of my watch submerged in little streams and with the beautiful colors surrounding. However since i am in Texas, this is not possible.

What i would like to see, or ask is that anyone who is willing, with your watch, maker is irrelevant, take and post the pictures of your watch in an environment of the autumn colors. Football is in season, so i suspect in the middle of October would be a fantastic time to take some pictures. Or even just a walk in the park on a Sunday stroll, perhaps view of them from the passenger seat in your cars or from your porch. I hope you can get the idea.

If i was able to, i would. But for now, i will submit this picture of a friend of mine. He used to live in my back yard and i managed to get this picture of him one afternoon. It was a crisp day.
