M-serial Explorer IIs have engraved flange since late 2007/early 2008. GMT 16710s has not. There are differences between models and serial numbers. I replied in reference to my specific watch as it was pictured, and it is an Explorer II.

No replicas in my house... ever... The picture is photoshopped, with increased grain, sharpening, and B/W effect everywhere but on the red 24 h hand, which you can see if you look closely. This might explain the text being percieved as black. In addition the serial number is removed (also photoshop).

The watch is bought new at an AD from which I have bought several Rolexes during many years, and they also have in-house Rolex watchmakers which service my watches, and with whom I have a personal contact.

All my stuff is real.
