Should I buy a NIB unworn sea dweller 16600?

I have a chance to do this for a little under $7,000. Early 2000s, lug holes, all stickers, coatings, box, papers, etc. I feel like it's probably among the last chances I'll have. I see used ones pretty banged up for mid $5k range, so this seems good to me.

One concern is that if I buy a watch in this condition, I probably shouldn't wear it, which seems like it will be hard to resist. I could save $2k just buying a used one to knock around. Once I wear it, I've taken all of its additional value away.

Advice?
