Lady DateJust Repair Question
Hello,
I need to get my wife's Lady Datejust two tone repaired. 69163 SN 9712195 around 1986 vintage I got ambushed with this last Saturday. Apparently around October last year my wife was unable to wind her watch and assessed it as broken. She thought I would blame her and didn't let me know and didn't lock the crown down. On Sat. she brings it to me and says it has water in it and the watch has been open all this time. You can move the hands freely and the date moves freely but you cannot wind it. I took it to a local shop and they opened it and it has some corrosion on it. I had them leave the back loose so I could shoot some pictures of the movement in high resolution. I didn't let the local shop repair it because their price seemed high for just a service($450) and I didn't get a great feeling about the place. Can you take a look at the pics I've linked to and give me your impressions? The pix are very large, when you view them the browser will most likely make them original size. You can hold down the CTRL key and tap + or - to zoom in and out. If this is in violation let me know, I lost my last post somehow. http://www.turbonet.biz/misc/Lady_Datejust/P1040250.JPG http://www.turbonet.biz/misc/Lady_Datejust/P1040248.JPG |
