Sorry Local Rolex Dealer rant
Just checking to see if you all think I'm crazy or not regarding my local Rolex dealer.
After buying a Rolex Deepsea earlier this year, and being treated somewhat rudely by the Manager then, I returned to buy another one, a Deepblue, and they got one in last week. They asked me to put $500 on a credit card to hold it, I did that. This was late on Wednesday last week, and I asked my Salesperson which day he worked, Sunday, or this Wednesday, because these were the two days I could pick it up. I was told he didn't work Sunday, but he worked Wednesday. I get a call today saying they want me to pay for this watch by Wednesday, or they will sell it to the "three people waiting for one".... I explained my plan was to come in Wednesday to pay for it and pick it up. He was apologetic for making the call, suggesting the Manager was pushing him to get me to come in and pick it up. If I had the time to call around and secure another DBlue, I would tell them to go ahead and sell the watch to one of the next three lucky clients, and wash my hands of them for good. But I would have to drive around the city of Chicago, and I do not have the time for that, and being a local businessman, I like trying to spend my money in my community when possible. Frustrating to feel like this when buying such a wonderful watch. It should be a great experience, not a drag. |
