His and Her's Anniversary Gifts
Hi all,
Just wanted to share a couple of anniversary gifts that me and my wife gave to each other this week. I've been putting money away for a while, saving for my grail watch and, it just so happened that about the time I was going to pull the trigger our anniversary rolled around. I've been wanting to get my wife a new Rolex for quite some time too. We've even stopped at a few ADs and tried watches on in the last couple of months. So, we were in San Francisco on our 29th anniversary and I talked her into stopping at Tourneau. They had a beautiful Datejust that she loved so we told the rep, we'd think about it over lunch. I literally had to beg her to take it. She's pretty old-school and has a very hard time spending this kind of coin on herself, but I told her that it would make me happy if she allowed me to get it for her. Reverse psychology in action. She relented and is now the proud owner of a 116234. She hasn't taken it off since she's gotten it. Anyway, this cut into my funds a bit so I had to do a partial trade with Takuya, trading a '57 Omega and some cash for my grail watch, which is.... a Daytona of course. So I just got the Daytona today and absolutely love it. I've tried on a few Daytona's before but not this exact model, because either no AD had one or, if they did, wouldn't show it anyway. We're both as happy as clams right now sporting our new watches and celebrating a beautiful 29 years together. Thanks for reading: |
