The Mystery of the Red Hangtag: Do you know?

I thought it would be interesting to solicit info from TRF gurus about what the know about the history of the Red Hangtag.

My curiosity was piqued after a comment regarding the red Hangtag that comes with a 14060m 2-liner. Prior to purchasing my recent beauty(14060m Y serial. 2-liner), I looked at a bunch of kits of various completeness. Many were missing tags, but others had the same red tag with hologram (plus or minus a green tag).

So I'm curious: Does anyone out there know the history of the red hang tag?
When they switched to hologram?
When they switched from one hologram to another?

I've read back through a bunch or old forum posts as well as old sale threads. From what can tell, it looks like a true complete kit for a 14060m included both a red and green tag, an anchor, a polishing cloth, in addition to standard boxes, warranty papers, and manuals. But honestly, who knows...Do you!?
