First Rolex- advice needed

Hi everyone.

I'm going to be turning 30 soon and have decided to treat myself to a Rolex to celebrate that.

My predicament is that I'm not entirely sure on which to go for. I'm considering the submariner (with date), Milgauss, or explorer II.

I obviously want something I'm going to enjoy and like the look of, but I'd also like something which will hold (or maybe even increase!) in value and that I could hand down through the family in the future.

Any helpful information or advice would be much appreciated.
