It's a cultural thing for sure. Here in the UK wearing a gold watch is considered gaudy in a business environment. It's a stereotypical dodgy used car sales man image. Having a gold Rolex is flaunting your wealth and just doesn't project the right impression imo.

But this all depends on the context of what you do. If you're closing million dollar deals its all good.
