DDII to DD40... what in the world?!

Okay, so my YG DDII Black Roman has always been my favorite watch. I bought it 2 years ago and swore it would be the one watch I never got rid of!

Out of nowhere, this DD40 comes out and I am totally shocked! Now, I don't have as much experience as most of you seasoned collectors, but I've never seen Rolex only make a watch for a few years. What the heck happened? Did they make a mistake with the size? Has Rolex given any information on why the made the change?

I will admit, I have always secretly felt like my DDII was just a smidge too big. So I think I am going to trade it in for the DD40. But will they scratch the DD40 in 3 years and go back to the DDII.... or do you think the DD40 is here to stay?

The whole thing just seems so weird.
