Incoming (Mrs Van Driver's first Rolex)!
Tomorrow (29th) is a very special day chez Van Driver. It's Mrs Van Driver's 11th birthday so to celebrate, we're off on a five day cruise out of here up to Langkawi and Port Klang. Before we go, I'll be giving her her birthday present, her first Rolex.
I guess it's a little extravagant but, simply put, I wouldn't be where I am without her. I mean, how many wives would sit back and allow their husbands to move 7,000 miles away (while they stay home in the UK) because the firm opened a new office in Asia and needed someone of my discipline to set up the marine side of the business? I can't imagine there being too many of those. She now works three weeks on/one week off and spends her week off out here with me. I met her just over 16 years ago at London's Heathrow Airport (I was travelling, she was ground staff). We've been married almost 13 years and she's stuck by me through some difficult times. Bit of a cliché, I know, but she has been my rock with her love, support and guidance. She really is the most amazing, as well as beautiful, woman. While I'm here, a big thanks to Dr. Tom. I tend to mollycoddle my watches a bit but Mrs Van Driver wears and uses her things just as they were intended to be. The thought of wearing a Rolex concerns her a bit in case she bashes it up. Tom has sent me a few pictures of his watches to show her what we all know and that's a Rolex can take a beating. Many thanks again, Tom Anyhoo, time to put the vomit bags away and post a pic. Here's the reference in the box. No wrist shots; she doesn't get it until tomorrow morning.
