Your take on the screw lock pushers on Daytona

I am on a wait list for the Daytona-C (I still like the Daytona500 moniker better), and I am absolutely in love with it. With that said, there's one design element that slightly bugs me: the screw locks on the start/stop and reset pushers.

Other brand watches don't need the screw lock to be water resistance. Rolex's own YMII doesn't need or have it, nor does some of the earlier Daytonas. And Daytona is not even a dive watch.

So what's the reason for it other than for the sake of its form? More interestingly, what's your preference regarding having vs. not having the screw locks on the pushers?

I personally prefer not having the screw locks for ease of operation and cleaner look...
