New Here
Hello all. I'm new to watches since 2013. Always before I've had inexpensive quartz watches. But due to an overseas assignment I met a work colleague who patiently tolerated my lack of knowledge and introduced me to nicer watches. He kindly let me borrow a Junkers watch fir a few days to get my Luminox off my wrist. After a lot of hours of talking and him slowly showing me various watches he owned he got me interested in the beauty of mechanical watches.
He helped me find my first piece (Panerai) and walked me through the process of buying the pre owned watch on line. Since then I've bought two other watches on line along with a new diver from an airport while traveling. In the process of looking, researching and reading I've also managed to pick up two nicer watches for my wife. The first was an Omega Constellation quartz while the next was a Bulgari automatic. That's when I found out I should only buy Quartz watches for her. I'm gone working too much to keep it set for her. So thanks to my friend and reading on these forums I'm slowly getting more familiar with this hobby. I will likely not post much. I'm more about learning and there are many more qualified people to comment than me. Plus I'm more a buyer than seller at this point. Kind regards, Steve |
