Rooney's £700,000 Debt.

Quote:
Manchester United striker Rooney, 20, is said to be bitterly upset that he was not stopped from naively wagering huge sums in an effort to recoup his losses. An England insider said last night: "Wayne feels very annoyed that no-one discouraged him from chasing his losses. That's how the problem got so big ."

What the ferk excuse is that?.For a £700,000 Gambling Debt

Poor Mr Rooney - he naively slept with prostitutes because no one told him not to.

He stupidly amassed a fortune of gambling debts because no one told him to stop, and the list of mistakes go on. However none of it is his fault, poor lad, he is simply being led astray. But now refusing to pay what he supposedly owes, he is doing himself no favours. He should receive a very short sharp lesson in personal responsibility. Wonder if he will put this in his 5 million pound life story book. The best job in the UK.....Wayne Rooney's bookie, for that matter the bookie servicing any of the dumb footballers who like to gamble so much (as if they need anymore money FFS),a fool and his money and all that. It's not as if he can't afford to pay it off. Dock his wages for a few months, ask Coleen to lay off the sales. Do an advert or two, just show some honour and pay. Then get yourself down to G/Anonymous for some help.I'd also expect his bosses at club and national level to lean on him very hard.

Either that or buckets of compassion from the Liverpudlian tabloid followers. I can foresee him spearheading a heavily sponsored campaign against the dangers of gambling for intellectually challenged premier league footballers.Undoubtedly they'll be rivers of tabloid tears, a la Blair/Gazza. I predict a soaring of sales on the Fortnum and Mason onion counter, not to mention the tabloid headlines, 'My personal fight against the evils of gambling addiction', with the mass hysteria of the public demanding the gov. Introduce legislation to protect our finest footballers from such wicked temptation. 'Oh en it terrible, e's such a luvely boy, how will he survive'. O J Simpson , eat your heart out.

Why is anybody surprised? The boy has the IQ of a beetroot, he will burn what money he has just like all of them.It just happens that he has a higher limit than most, because we pay stupid high wages to footballers.at least George Best R.I.P had a bit of character.Typical rich boy spoilt brat football attitude. Nothing is my fault, I cannot be held responsible for my own actions, Wah Wah effing Wah.

Exactly!that and that's why he's becoming a hero to millions in this country. Forget Beckham, the worst thing he's done is find shovel-faced dullard Rebbecca Loos attractive. No, people these days need to look up to a man who is the epitome of football culture. A man who can not only make mistakes but also whine when it comes to face up to them.

As I understand it, poor Rooney only gets paid around £70k per week, plus other interests, make you think how they manage. He is an outstanding footballer,he needs to show maturity and honour his gambling debt. Paying it will be meaningless to him, he should consider it a steep learning curve.Yes he is very talented but also very stupid, his partner is more interested in his fame than his personal qualities (?????). He accepts no personal liability for the mess he creates, temperamental, etc etc etc Too much too young and all the old clichés that go with responsible life.
