Serial Number - is there a value to it?

brucethemanlee "TRF" Member Join Date: Apr 2016 Location: 1 of 13 Colonies Posts: 8,575	Serial Number - is there a value to it? I have seen many pics and videos where the serial numbers has been covered or obscured. I'm assuming the reason is to stop counterfeiters from having an actual serial number that is recognized by Rolex to put on their fake watches. Is that the reason why? By going to random serial numbers does that matter anymore or not? Love to hear TRF's rationale and reasoning!
