FS: JLC Jaeger Lecoultre Vintage Military Watch (1942) Cal 463
Hi All
I'm selling my JLC vintage, possible military watch. The dial is excellent, the original lume on both the numerals and hands has aged extremely nicely. It's a chromed case with a steel caseback. The chrome evidently shows marks of use, but it's in very fair condition. The movement looks clean, it works well and keeps good time. The service history is unknown though. It's powered by a manual wind cal 463. About 30,000 of these watches were produced in 1942 / 1943. The watch is on the smaller side and measures 31mm diameter without crown and takes a 16mm strap. This is a possible German issued Luftwaffe watch since the case and movement serial number match. JLC did this for no other model but this one, while matching numbers of case and movement was a standard requirement for German army issued watches, and it's known that the German Luftwaffe put in an order with JLC for non-waterproof watches. So there's a strong suspicion these could have been issued to the German Luftwaffe, but until this day there has been no official confirmation of JLC. Thanks! |
