After the barrel selection, we got to sample the Sinatra Select and received a history lesson on how it came about. Sinatra really put JD in the Hollywood spotlight. Supposedly, that's all he drank once he discovered it. He drank so much and gave so many bottles away to Hollywood friends, that JD almost ran out of whiskey. That's when they sold it to Brown Foreman for $20 million. Those guys dumped tons of money to build new stills, mash houses, rick houses, etc. It is a really cool story on how the brand was thrust into the spotlight.

Hollywood spotlight? More like Las Vegas spotlight. He loved the stuff, and said it was an elegant libation. He called it Daniels, not Jack or J.D.
