Audemars Piguet outdid themselves for 2017 in the ROO collection.
The 2017 SIHH offerings were exceptional and I had to be a part of it.
First off, the new 26401RO subtly overtook the old generation. I was in denial since I owned the previous model. The new RO color scheme just works much better when on the wrist. With the black subdials, the dial itself looks less busy and lets the details really shine especially with the rose accents. The old RO was a hit in photos, but on the wrist it was too much going on. Was it worth the premium to upgrade to the new RO? Yes absolutely! If your spending this much money on something, why not spend a bit more instead of settling. The unexpected star of the show is the 26400IO. I purchased both of these timepieces sight unseen. When I arrived the IO SCREAMED at me. Just like any other Royal Oak, PICTURES DONT DO JUSTICE! The bezel works better with this dial than any other 44mm. The markers, screws on the bezel, and the hands POP on this watch like your wearing 3D glasses. Comfort and weight balance is perfect which doesn't happen often with the 44mm ROO's. This might be one of the greatest ROO's ever produced IMO. If you have the funds and have the opportunity to purchase the titanium, I seriously doubt you would ever turn this one down. If you don't have the funds than sell a kidney. Many many thanks to the AD! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to pick up this double trouble! Enjoy the pics, I feel super lucky right now to own these pieces! (And if you get the chance to get the IO..... BUY IT NOW!) |
