Seeking Rolex Purchasing Advice

It is my current plan to pick up a 116710BLNR or LN for my birthday at the end of the 2018. The knowledge of the people on this forum has shown me this may be the worst time of year to buy due to stock shortages. While I would like to have the AD experience for this milestone birthday it has been proven this may be impossible for my exact birthday and not worth paying 8.25% tax just for a bottle of water and a handshake.

All this being said my current idea is to wait until about April (still holding out for a possible SS BLRO at Bezel ) then going to some AD's and seeing what I can get and not worry about exact birthday....I mean it's in the same year right . Since I don't have a relationship with any AD's I am assuming I should just get on a list at a few and see how that goes for awhile and if nothing else buy from a trusted member here. Does this sound like a solid plan? Any advice from the experts would be greatly appreciated.
