Two RubberB’s...A Comparison
I just received a RubberB strap for my Black Bay today and as much as I love the one on my Explorer, this one is even better looking. Here’s a photo and then I’ll explain the difference. By the way, what might appear to be a gap on the six o’clock side really is not. It’s just a shadow from the photo. The fit is perfect on both sides.
Now for the comparison which will be short and sweet. The second photo is the Explorer and the third is the Black Bay. Enlarge each photo and you will notice the difference. The Explorer RubberB has a matte finish with a bit of a glossy look while the Black Bay RubberB has a metallic look to it, much like the paint on your car which I feel is an improvement. Honestly, I think it looks terrific. The fit and comfort factor on both are equal. There’s been much debate on various threads comparing Everest straps to RubberB. Having never owned an Everest I can’t compare the two. I’m sure that quality wise they are probably equal. What swayed me to RubberB initially was simple aesthetics. I liked its tapered looks better. With my purchase of the RubberB for the Black Bay, that feeling has only been reinforced. For anyone straddling the fence about the purchase of this strap, I hope this comparison helps.
