Looking for a dressy, versatile Rolex and need suggestions
Hello everyone,
My current watch is a Panerai 44mm Luminor Marina Militare with a limited edition cocoa leather strap, and I love the watch, but I would like to get back into a Rolex as well. I would like something versatile that I could wear with a suit, but could also be dressed down on weekends. My personal style: fairly sporty, but I dress well much of the time. I have an athletic build (I am a climber, so not a big guy, and no, these don't go anywhere near a rock wall or indoor gym wall). My wife has a GMTII 2-tone and a DJ36 fluted in RG, and she is not impressed with the Panerai. I used to own a GMTII, which I traded for the Panerai, as I wanted something a bit different. Current thoughts are: Explorer II (5 digit style, can be had around $5,000) Yacht-Master with blue dial (different, but sharp) DJ 41 with a blue arabic dial and fluted bezel (perhaps more dressy, but a nice watch) older Daytona Pepsi-bezel 5-digit GMT Milgauss with green face Which would you choose, and why? Which is most likely to hold value over time? |
