Daytona Sold by Sotheby's for 951k USD
Check out this daytona that was just sold by Sotheby's in their important watch auction:
http://www.sothebys.com/en/auctions/...1/lot.276.html Not an expert or learned in such auctions but I would imagine with buyers premium and tax this watch may have been sold for over $1mm USD, more than double its high estimate of 400k and I believe the most expensive item sold. Paul Newman dial with brown subs against white, original owner, receipt, paperwork, box, and bracelet. Bought for $135 check with $1 of change. Here's a link to all of the Rolex sold so far: http://www.sothebys.com/en/auctions/...&viewMode=list Of note a 4607 which is interesting, a beautiful DD, a 16700 went for 8.1k, a few other daytona's that beat estimates including a 16528 that smashed 18k estimate and went for 45k, a 16520 for 52k. A panama canal submariner and more. |
