I used to love TRF, just like I used to love Facebook...
But as of late, the threads are killing me. Facebook used to be cool, then it just turned into a bunch of political bs news stories....I've only been around these parts for a few years, but TRF has morphed into a valuation, I hope my Rolex will be the next big collectable thing when it's discontinued, I have inside unconfirmed "official" info, blah blah blah blah.....
WHAT HAPPEN TO THE DAYS WHEN PEOPLE WERE ON HERE JUST TO ENJOY WATCHES? Share what they bought, compliment someone on their new incoming, discuss the pros and cons of a new reference, give pointers about Rolex I would have never known had I not joined like the proper GMT hand stack. I know, many of you are thinking, "well stop logging in then." You know what, lately, I haven't been. I remember the days when I would log on first thing in the morning, spend an hour drinking coffee reading the threads, looking at the incomings. Now I log on and briefly scan over all of the "it's official" or the "it's collectable even though there's 500,000 of them" or you name it.... Social media has ruined rolex for me just like it has ruined everything else in life I enjoy. Oh well. I guess times are changing and I'm just not changing as fast. My $.02. Stepping down from the soapbox....Had to vent. |
