... I have done a lot of thinking as to why I went through all these watches (40) in search of THE ONE, and I decided to list them because I felt that it brought this crazy flipping addiction to light. I also realized that for me watches have to have sentimental value or meaning to be keepers in my collection.

My Breitling was my college graduation gift from my mother, the Tudor Chrono I wore the day I met, proposed and married my wife, and my Explorer, which my wife engraved, was my wedding present. Each of these watches evoke strong memories of my life.

Other than those three the others have been a revolving door especially since I had a one in one out rule so as you can see it was a quickly revolving door. Lol

This has been a special year in my life with the birth of my son a few months ago. So I decided for my 36th Birthday I would go on the hunt for a present :).

I had a pretty solid 5 watch collection that included a 16750 and Panerai 104 along with the 3 mentioned above. However, I lacked fulfillment with my grouping and was constantly trying to trade the Panerai and make the GMT perfect since it had a damaged dial which was going to cost me $2500+ to replace.

So I pushed myself to think of what watch I wanted and went to the usual suspects listed above which I had flipped multiple times. Then I decided I wanted a lil gold in this one to differentiate it from my others and decided that a TT Daytona was going to be it. I began looking at my options and when I saw the white dial 16523 with the black rings I knew. It had the vintage vibe I love with a modern flair to it since it is very similar to the 116523.

I found the exact version I wanted with the 78363 bracelet (pre ‘92) and traded away the GMT and Panerai. Yes, 2 for 1 since price also factors into my in out rule. Therefore, leaving me with a solid 4 watch rotation that each represent something in my life.

I am so thrilled to have finally, in my mind, found the missing link in my modest collection. This watch to me is a timeless classic that both represents sport and elegance.

My wife bought me this book for my birthday before I even told her I was considering the trade (she never even saw the inside cover). I feel it really puts the final seal on this watch as the one to end the flipping.
