Hi all, so I am very new to the forum and have been browsing now for a few weeks. I was drawn to the forum in a search for information on the various SS professional models, given the grey market prices and scarcity.
My watch journey started with a Breitling Super Avenger II about 4 years ago. It was shiny and at 48mm, I felt I was getting more bang for my buck...I loved it. A year or so later, I had to push the button on a Rolex. The DSSD was a logical choice with its size and I had an appreciation for the story and engineering of the watch. Following this, I inherited my grandpa’s 1967 Navitimer, which is when I really started to appreciate what a watch can mean and what I wanted my watches to represent going forward. 2 more years pass and I wanted to be more selective about my purchases. The first two were impulsive, and now I am happier to wait for the right watches. I am fortunate to have a good friend who is in a position to slot me into waiting lists when he can at an AD in the UK. The drawback is, when one comes available, I have to pull the trigger within a couple of days. I was late to the party for the Daytona, but I am hopeful within 12-24 months I will have the option. Back in February, I told said friend to put me down for a hulk. I got the call a month ago, and I’ve been waiting since 3rd May for my parents to bring from the Uk to Dubai. It’s been a long 4 weeks. I am extremely pleased and honoured to have this timepiece on my wrist. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
