Google Data on Rolex Search Trends in the U.S.
I've been curious what's going on with "Rolex Watches" as a search term on Google in light of the economic turmoil that we all read about on a daily basis. Here's what I found in looking thru data from Google Insights:
1) This is a chart of the top 5 states from which "Rolex Watches" originates as a search term for 2004 thru 2008. Surprisingly, the top 5 states are: Florida, Nevada, New York, New Jersey, and Texas. I thought California would be in there, but it's not. On a yearly basis, "Rolex Watches" seems to be in decline as a Google search term. 2) On a monthly basis (ave. over past 4 years) in the top 5 states where U.S. searches for "Rolex Watches" on Google originate, the search seems to spike on a quarterly basis (March, June, September, and December). The biggest spike takes place in December. It also appears as though folks in Nevada search for Rolex around Valentine's day. 100% is the average search volume, below 100% is below average, above 100% is above average. Anyway, hope you all find this information interesting. |
