Recently Acquired GMT 1675
Hello everyone
I've been scouring this forum for awhile reading everything I possibly can about watches (vintage Rolex, Tudor and otherwise). You guys are all awesome and so knowledgeable!! I recently acquired this 1675 from a friend who was selling it. His dad recently passed away and he was liquidating some of his assets. He (friend's dad) purchased it new and was a pilot. I was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time and was able to purchase it for what I felt to be a fair price. The watch hadn't ticked for years (unknown how long) so service was required. I sent to RSC Dallas and they got it working for me. The crystal and crown have been changed and I got a new 78360 w/580 end links bracelet with it. Otherwise, it's all original. I think I have the correct info below here, but would the experts please correct me if I'm wrong? *SN 5.1mil dates it to 1977/1978 *Mark III dial. Is this the dial known as "Radial" or "Mini" dial? Are those the same things? Is this dial more/less common than others? *Date wheel has open-6s/9s and is silverish hue. Is this more/less common than others? *Bezel insert is original. Is this considered a "Fat Font" bezel? Thank you in advance to whoever might reply on this thread. I'm very proud of this watch and feel very lucky to have acquired it. -DS- Sent from my SM-G892A using Tapatalk |
