Vintage appeal

I was at a Ralph Lauren recently and saw they had some vintage watches on display so I took a closer look. To my surprise, there was a 1981 submariner in there that I got to try on. Price was 13K, but don’t think it had all original parts. I must say, there was something very special about putting on a vintage piece though with beautiful patina, the light weight, the slim lugs, and subtle discolouration of the hands and date wheel. Made me think that maybe an older GMT, Sub or Explorer2 would be a very neat watch to own one day.
