Happened to me just last week. Went into an AD and was trying on a few pieces. Had put my Sub C down and the associate quickly grabbed it. Said not to leave it on the tray because it was such an in demand piece and was worried someone might walk out of the store with it. I thought it was odd but kept trying on pieces and then glanced down and it was gone! Had a heart attack for a moment and then realized the associate hid it under a polishing cloth. The whole experience made me uncomfortable so I grabbed my watch and quickly left
