Bezel Question
Hey all,
Short-term lurker, first-time poster. I've been cautiously circling the idea of buying my first Rolex for a while now. I know everyone has their favorites, but the one that keeps calling to me is the GMT-Master or GMT-Master II "Root Beer" steel/gold case with the nipple dial (although I'm not sure that's even available in the GMT-Master II... if it is, I haven't found one), the brown sunburst dial, and the oyster bracelet. My question is this: in looking, I see that there are 2 variants on the bezel. The first is the two-color bezel where the top half and bottom half are differing colors (with the numbers on the bezel being the other half's color); the second is where the bezel is a single color and the numbers on it are a contrasting color. For me, I like the second option, but, in looking around, the first option seems to be significantly more common (or maybe I'm looking in the wrong places). I was wondering if y'all had any advice on how difficult/expensive it is to change out the bezel with the second option if I found a good example of, in other respects, of the first option. Is it okay to do it or better just to be patient and wait until the right one comes along? Hopefully, my question isn't inane and any advice or information is greatly appreciated! |
