My father who retired a couple years ago is looking to buy his first Rolex. He's never been a luxury-anything type of guy but my family has convinced him that he definitely deserves one and he seems to be convinced. I brought him a catalog from the local AD and luckily enough he likes the simple & classic DJ - 126333 which is available (Yellow Gold 2 tone black dial with diamonds). Thoughts and any recommendations from the more experienced WIS? I know the most important factor to consider is whether the person who will be wearing the watch likes it but I don't want him to purchase a "sucker" model that the ADs want to just get rid of.
