Am I the only one who didn't find Ricky Gervais' monologue that...scathing?

I honestly didn't think it was that "bold."

He said some jokes about Leonardo Di Caprio (which he took very well and laughed heartily) and did the same for Scorcese and his (lack of) height- who also lol'ed and even agreed.

Then there were the digs about Hollywood's "holier-than-thou" attitude, a complaint increasingly embraced (shockingly) by both ends of the political spectrum- and, I might add, a growing portion of Hollywood stars themselves. And you could hear it from the laughter of the audience itself.

So what's the big deal? He didn't say anything that's "shocking" or even "needed to be said" that no one has said already.

The only bold thing I thought he did was that Judi Dench joke- which, I might add, the audience dug into. Hell, you can even see (spoiler alert) Ellen Degeneres and her wife beaming in anticipation right before he delivered the punch line.

The Comedy Central roasts are (or, were) far, far more brutal.
