Which is your "Grail" Rolex?
I was thinking myself about this matter lately, and wished to share my thoughts with my friends at TRF.
I mean, some time ago, I badly wanted to own a current model Daytona, and was very exited when I finally got the chance to get one. Thatīs a fantastic, accurate, good looking watch, which I very much enjoy on my wrist. That was my "almost Grial Rolex", and still is. But there is another Rolex I would really love to own: that is a "no crown guard" type Submariner. Any model from the 6200/6204 through the 5536/5508 versions. A model commonly known as "Bond Sub" something like this: Yes, of course I know, that it is said that the true "Bond Sub" was a 6538, but any of the above mentioned models would make me SUPER HAPPY. I "officially" declare it, rigth here, my Grail watch. I considered the Daytona P. Newman for the title of my own Grail Rolex, but it happens to be well beyond my economic possibilities, and this was a definitive point in the answering to my question, so I discarded it for this title. To this day, my own Grial Rolex "no crown guard" Sub has been very elusive to me: prices too high to my expectations and possibilities, or watches suspiciously looking regarding its originality. May be someday it will arrive! Now... Dear TRF fellow member: which is your Grial Rolex? Do you already own it? Or just waiting for it, like me? Thanks in advance for your comments. Kind regards, Abel
