Best Way To Find a Vintage Rolex

I am looking for a Rolex from 1966. I would like either an Explorer or a Sub. Looking at the usual places online I am able to find some that seem to fit the bill, but I want to be sure that the source is reputable and able to verify that the watch is "correct", as I am not knowledgable enough to do this on my own. I want as close to original and in the best condition possible. I appreciate any and all insight on how to get this process started.
