Incoming! My First True Vintage: YG Nipple Dial 1675/8 GMT

Hi, y'all. I recently got fell in love with the modern everose rootbeer, but my heart has always preferred the charm and character of the vintage references. As soon as I found out about the brown bezel/dial variants of the 1675/8, I was hooked. I spent a little while trying to track down an example that appealed to me. I finally picked one up a couple of days ago and love it. It's a 1978 YG 1675/8 with a matte brown nipple dial. The bezel shows the life the watch lived, and I love that it has a story to tell. I've thought about getting a fresh one, but like the toned-down look of this one. One of my favorite details is probably the gold date wheel. I've never seen that on a modern Rolex. Enjoy!

P.S. — I'm looking at various strap options for it, but for now, it's on a tonal-brown suede strap that complements the colors. I'm on the lookout for a matching buckle, so if anyone has one they've seen, feel free to send me a link.

And a bonus shot with my 1989 5513 Submariner
