I have been to Manila a few times, and as an American, I would be VERY wary of wearing anything really expensive. I know that watches are made to enjoy etc, but I just think there is just too much trouble to get into if you don't know exactly where to go, and if you stick out at all. I would recommend reading the online literature the state department has on travel there.
Don't get me wrong, I loved traveling there, and I met a lot of genuinely open, caring and caring people, and the Philippines is beautiful, BUT kidnappings are not all that uncommon (though more often of rich locals), and lots of places that westerners would go have guards at the doors. It is just not a place I would take a 5K plus wristwatch. I wore my Invicta 8926 when I went. |
