Dream come true

When I was a lad my old man gave me my first Rolex. It was an old datejust, tatty and stretched. That watch is long gone, traded over and over until I managed to get my grail, a shiney new Day Date.

I remember back then, when I was so proud of my little oyster, I spyed a DJ in the window of a London dealer. It was stunning, steel and white gold with the most unusual sodalite dial. At the time the price tag was astromonical compared to a standard DJ. I thought I could not have afforded it in a million years.

Anyway the point of this post is that many years later, (Last week in fact) I see such a watch at a grey dealer, I forgot how unique this watch looked, as I usually find myself lusting after sports models, so I pulled the trigger and bought it. The DJ is winging its way to me as we speak, (I hope).

I just can't wait to get my new toy.

Plenty of photo's to follow!
