FS: Gallet Multichron Excel-o-Graph rare
This is a tough one to part with but I’m being ruthless in my commitment to consolidating the collection. Looks great and has excellent long term value.
Price is $6000USD Current value estimates are $6k USD and up and this one is in excellent condition. So I believe it’s priced quite fairly. Watch is located here with me in Victoria BC Canada and will ship from here. Highly collectible for some time, the now rare Gallet by Racine Excel-o-Graph was designed for aviation, navigation, engineering, and scientific use, utilizing a rotating bezel for precise calculations. According to sources, due to the extraordinaty Excelsior Park calibre 40.68 manual movement with low-mass Glucydur balance wheel, the watch was known to be one of the most accurate professional chronographs of the 20th century. This Excel-o-graph is an excellent example and from my understanding in all original condition. A complete service was done to the EP40-68 movement just prior to my purchasing it in 2017. See photos and video. I am just the third owner, purchasing it from a professional watchmaker who had owned it himself for years. Dial and slide rule rings: All are in excellent condition. Lume on the markers is intact and equal in colour. The dial has developed some tropical patina that is hard to show in photos. Outer slide rule rings are clean and free of oxidation or staining. Bezel: In excellent condition. Surprising given the polished surface. Rotates smoothly and easily but not too loose. Crystal: clean acrylic slightly domed. Case: the case is still very sharp with some light marks but no dings or deep scratches. Excellent condition for a 50+ yr old watch. Strap: Perfectly matching blue sueded vintage style strap in excellent lightly worn condition. Included is a magazine advertisement I was able to obtain for the same model and a copy of the user instructions apparently made available by the late Chuck Maddox who spent years hunting for a fine example of this grail for himself. Terms of payment and shipping cost to be determined by agreement with the buyer. No returns so please ask all questions. Photos and description are an accurate description of the condition. Thanks TRF and to all for having a look. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
