Yes. Anyone has the right to say anything about themselves that they want. But simply by association it is also referring to similar people.

One can be proud of themselves all they like. And in this case, he should be. It’s an incredibly hard thing that he did.

And again, I agree with you. Anyone has the right to refer to themselves in a certain way. But clearly anyone that is currently in his “old phase”, will potentially awesome his comments as insulting.

Maybe they won’t. Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe I’m too sensitive. Maybe I’m not. I prefer to err on the side of caution. I just don’t like to make people feel badly about themselves.

Considering cardiovascular disease is rapidly becoming one of the biggest challenges to the health care system in the western world, perhaps hurting people’s feelings should not be concern number 1?
