Incoming from AD! and story
I've managed to acquire a Submariner 114060 from AD after about 6 months of craziness. I'm blown away by the watch, it's an absolute beauty. I was thinking about going for a 5 digit sub, but I'm glad I didn't in the end.
Some of you may remember my post a couple weeks back about my terrible AD experiences and my difficulty in buying a SS sports model (just like everyone). I wrote a post on my blog about it here: https://www.watchreviewblog.com/role...orized-dealer/ I ended up driving to a different province because I was getting nowhere with my local ADs. I bought a Tudor 1926 for my GF from this new AD and really connected with the sales rep and rest of the staff at the store. One week later I received the text for the Submariner. So basically the hoops you need to jump through to get one of these pieces is just crazy. You need to be persistent, spend a little money, and get creative if you want to buy direct from the AD. If not just save your time and buy grey. Going to pickup a Davidoff cigar today and perhaps a bottle of Scotch to celebrate the purchase, and then it's back to business as usual with Sub on wrist! |
