PP Nautilus Jumbo was the first luxury sports watch

Nothing wrong with that, but AP/PP are dress watch companies at their core and if it was one of PP chronos, that’s a different story. But to me the PP you are considering is like gshock coming out with a dress watch. It’s just not in their DNA. If you want a sport watch, the GMT wins hands down and has real heritage. The PP model you are considering has no heritage.
I'm not sure what you mean by PP trying to "cash in" on sports watches. As far as luxury sports watches go, the 1976 Jumbo Nautilus red3700 was the birth of luxury sports watches. Jaeger-LeCoultre's Reverso is considered the first sports watch, but the horolgical icon of high-end sports watches goes to the Nautilus, and I've never heard anyone debate that Gérald Genta didn't infact pioneer the style.
