Cleaned up my bracelet. Advise on lens please

Finally took the plunge and took the bracelet apart for a clean on my tudor chrono 79260 after reading the excellent post by Tools and Jocke. It has come up an absolute treat. My wife told me off last night for looking at it so much. I'm gonna have a go at her Cartier Roadster tonight. I realise that this kind of work on a watch is small fry to you guys but I got a real kick out of it.
I thought that I should take some photos but I just can't seem to get them right. Can anyone recommend me a decent lens to go on a canon 400d. I really enjoy looking at the great photos other members post and would love to post some of my own.
