Hello from Winston Salem NC
DJ2020 ,
I have be a watch enthusiast since my teenage years many decades ago. I was mostly interested in my grandfathers pocket watch (which I still have today) and then in the last 20 years ago I became interested in high end wrist watches and the movements they had. Horology just plain excites me. For many years I collected Elgin model 7's, then upgraded to BW Raymonds in particular 572's and collected many. Then It was the Hamilton 992, 992B, 950 and finally the 950B. My work started me to the constant exposure of high magnetic fields which ended my pocket watch inflection. Alas my first luxury watch. a Rolex precision 34mm. I think at that moment I fell for the wrist watch and Rolex. Then followed a 36DJ 2 tone with a fluted bezel. Can't remember the ref. but it had a 3035 movement. then A Skyfall Omega PO 42mm w/8500. I liked that watch and it was very accurate. But soon became to heavy and tall on my wrist during work. Then came a DJ2 w/ blue dial. after that, a Omega AT 41 w/8900 and white dial. Well, after I got over (you had to have a 41\42mm watch(6.5" wrist) I got a 2019 OP 36mm w/ Black dial. This watch was so comfortable I just could not believe it. I was surly hook at this point. Now in my late 50's I finally settled on one, everyday, everything watch. So in early October 2020 I traded up to a 126200 DJ36 w\3235 Black. I am very happy with this watch and continue to be extremely interested in any article, video or forum that has to do with watches. Happy to be a new member of TRF. |
