Tiffany Watch Servicing

Hi Everyone! So my wife recently acquired her grandmothers watch after her passing and we've taken it back to Tiffany's to get an estimate on what it going to take to get it back to working spec. I don't have any details as to what reference or caliber this may be but their estimate came back and I am a little surprised. I'm definitely going to get a few more opinions before getting this serviced.

What are your thoughts?

"Dear Mr. C:

Thank you for submitting your merchandise to Tiffany & Co. where
it will be treated with care.

We have reviewed your request with a qualified technician to
determine the material and time needed to successfully service
your merchandise. Please be aware that the estimate will remain
valid for thirty days.

Service Order Charge... : $1,128.00
Sales Tax.............. : 93.74
Estimate Total......... : $1,221.74

One bracelet watch was submitted for service. The watch was
received in a non-working condition, scratched. After review by
a Tiffany technician it has been determined that that the
movement is dry/dirty, and the watch requires a complete service.
This entails the removal of all parts in order to clean, oil and
regulate them. The watch movement will be re-assembled. The
gaskets will be replaced. The watch case and bracelet will be
cleaned/polished. Upon completion of repairs the watch will be
monitored to ensure accurate working condition.

As Tiffany & Co. requires authorization to proceed, please click
on the link below to process your response.

Once we have received your authorization, your order will be
completed within 6 weeks."
