polish brush strokes

This question is posed to watchsmiths and experts in the know. Some of my Rolex have the brush lines on the lugs at an angle and some are straight. For example, my Kermit was sent to Rolex Dallas a couple years ago for service and the brush lines are angled, sadly I didn’t think to check how they were before. However, my new untouched BLRO has the brush lines straight. I purchased it new from Rolex so I know it’s correct. So, were these watches all straight brushed until their first polish? Sorry for my juvenile drawings, I'm no good at the super close-up pics. Thanks for the input.
