The Explorer will go to 41mm with a new movement and be a fantastic watch, I want one already.
The Explorer II will get the new movement, and probably some other relatively insignificant change that will polarize the Rolex world. The new model will be effectively unobtainable from the AD and command a huge secondary market premium in the name of progress. The old one will shoot up in value in the name of tradition. We'll argue over minutiae for weeks. 99.5% of the people you pass won't even know it's a Rolex, let alone and Explorer II, definitely not an updated Explorer II. |
