Is there 3rd party shipping insurance?
Hello. Recently I sold a Rolex. Originally, without knowing better I offered it to be shipped fully insured. I had the quote online and I was fine with it. Once I arrived at the FedEx location they told me that the limit on jewelery is $1000.
Apparently you can only insure higher values if you are a jeweler. I immediately contacted the buyer and mentioned this to him(I was not comfortable with it at all) but he told me it’s not problem to send the package anyway. I did, and it arrived so I felt a great bit of relief. I’d hate to think what would happen if the package was lost. Now, the roles are reversed. I’m looking to buy a watch tomorrow. I am totally content with the seller. And I have no issue or worries with wiring the money. Only thing now, is I obviously know that this package Can’t be insured. Is there a 3rd party insurance for shipped packages? I know many will say, buy from a trusted seller but I’m not willing to pay 3k more for the same watch. But at the same time 3k more is always better than a scare of losing 17k. What would you guys recommend in this situation? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
