I love that reference of Tudor, wish they still sold it here. I'm continuously tempted to import one from Hong Kong.

Anyway, I've always chalked it up to a difference in font and date wheel size being that it's not a Rolex movement, but rather a nicely finished ETA. Still a solid, robust, and proven movement, but it's also part of why these are still so affordable.
